Gestern hat eine Facebook-Freundin ein Video zu ihrer Heimat eingestellt. Das fand ich irgendwie cool. Kurz ein Land in einem Video vorzustellen. Damit kennt man zwar das Land noch nicht, aber hat zumindest einen kleinen Einblick.

Sometimes is Facebook really useful. Today I had a good laugh… and I don’t want to keep it back ;-)
So that you really believe me, do the following steps:
Facebook ist doch manchmal zu was gut. Heute habe ich mal wieder schön gelacht… und möchte Dir das natürlich nicht vorenthalten. ;-)

I was today in the morning without internet and called Kai to hear if there is everything working. He said „Joar, internet is working. But did you hear that with the power plant already? We had a total power cut because the main power plant got blown up!“… :-o „What?“
So, after the internet was back, I was looking on all news pages for information about it. So, the power plant itself doesn’t explode by itself. But seems like 2 container with ammunition on the military base next to it (close to Zigi/Mari).

According to the newspaper the container caught fire and blow up. The shock wave was so huge that debris hit and destroyed windows from cars on the near by highway (Limassol – Larnaca) and insured even the driver.
Also the villages around got bombed by debris (splinter, metal sticks and whole roof parts) and houses got partly heavily damaged. And also the near by main power plant of the island got damaged and it imminent a shut down of the whole plant.
Eyewitnesses say it looks like after a bomb attack.
At least 12 people got killed in the disaster and at least 30 got insured.
The container itself remain from an confiscation, under pressure from US, in 2009, when they found an illegal ammunition transport from Syria to Iran. Since then the 98 container with ammunition are stored on the military base. And 2 blow up now last night. Not to think about what would have happened if all – or at least more – would have been exploded.

As we can read now at http://www2.onthisisland.com/cyprus-power-outage/2011/07/11/, are all 98 container exploded. The damage on the power plant is enormous (there is also a link to pictures from BBC… looks really bad).
The flags are on half mast and an terrorist attack is not excluded at the moment.

I didn’t really heard anything here in Limassol. Actually I just fall a sleep a bit before. But it was the whole night strange foggy. Maybe a forerunner.
Heute morgen war ich ohne Internet und habe erst einmal Kai angerufen ob bei ihm alles geht. Er meinte „Joar, Internet ist da. Aber haste schon das vom Kraftwerk gehört? Wie hatten kompletten Stromausfall weil das Kraftwerk in die Luft geflogen ist!“… :-o „What?“
Also gleich erst einmal alle News-Seiten abgeklappert… nachdem das Internet wieder ging. Also das Kraftwerk selbst ist nicht in die Luft geflogen. Aber wohl 2 Container mit Munition auf dem nahegelegenen Militärstützpunkt nahe Mari/Zygi.

Die Container sollen wohl Feuer gefangen haben und detoniert sein. Dabei ist die Schockwelle so groß gewesen das die Trümmerteile Autofahrer auf der nahegelegenen Autobahn (Limassol-Larnaca) verletzt haben und deren Fensterscheiben zerstört haben. Im die umliegenden Dörfer wurden mit Trümmerteilen bombardiert (Splitter, Eisenstangen und ganze Dachteile) und die Gebäude teilweise schwer beschädigt.
Auch das nahegelegene größte Elektrizitätswerk der Insel wurde stark beschädigt und es droht ein Ausfall des Kraftwerkes.
Augenzeugen sagen das es dort aussieht wie nach einem Bombenangriff.
Mindestens 12 Menschen wurden bei der Katastrophe getötet und über 30 verletzt.
Die Container selbst stammen von einem illegalen Militärtransport von Syrien in den Iran und wurden 2009, unter Druck der USA, von Zypern konfisziert. Seitdem stehen nun 98 Container mit Munition auf der Militärbasis. 2 sind nun letzte Nacht exploriert. Nicht auszudenken was passiert wäre wenn noch mehr davon hochgegangen wären.

Wie nun bei http://www2.onthisisland.com/cyprus-power-outage/2011/07/11/ nachzulesen ist, sind doch alle 98 Container hochgegangen. Die Zerstörung am Kraftwerk ist wohl massiv (dort ist auch Link zu Bildern vom BBC… sieht echt schlimm aus).
Die Fahnen wehen auf Halbmast und ein Terroristischer Anschlag wird im Moment nicht ausgeschlossen.

Hier in Limassol habe ich selbst wenig davon mitbekommen. Eigentlich bin ich erst kurz vorher eingeschlafen. Aber es war schon die ganze Nacht komisch Neblig. Vielleicht eine Vorbotschaft.
Ich gehe ja nun jeden Tag ein bisschen an den Strand. Zum ausspannen, relaxen, Sonne tanken und natürlich auch zum Schnorcheln. Und jeden Tag suche ich das besondere unter Wasser. Irgendwas. Man weiß vorher ja nie so wirklich auf was man treffen wird, von den Fischen abgesehen die immer da sind.
Die, die man nicht sofort sieht, sind aber die viel interessanteren. :) Manchmal kann das eine große Krabbe sein, manchmal eine Moräne und manchmal etwas ganz besonderes.
Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich so meinen ersten Stachelrochen gesehen. Nur ca. 20 Meter vom Strand entfernt. Nun suche ich jeden Tag wieder nach einem, aber bis jetzt kein Glück mehr.

Today I had again such case. I wanted to reinstall my small laptop.I collected again a lot of rubbish on it and couldn’t wait longer to do it. The system became soo slow :-(
Anyway. The problems with reinstalling are always:
The first question I can mostly answer with „no“ and just move it… until nothing goes anymore. Question 3… the big searching starts. I have a special folder for this files on my external hard disk, to where I copy these files. And for the questions 2 and 4 I found a nice tool which is helping out.
The tool (little software) works very easy. You just need to start the search and the software creates a list with all installed programs. The good thing is – inclusive all product keys of software which it can recognize (at the moment over 3000 programs). Now you have everything at a glance… for example the Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7 (etc.) product key or the Microsoft Office product key and so on.

The tool lists all in a table and the table can be printed or saved in a file. Last is probably the more useful option ;-)
Or you save the list on an USB stick, then it will be not deleted when you format the harddisk.
But the software can even more then ‚just‘ showing, recovering and saving/printing the product keys. It can also change a product key. Sometimes it is necessary to change a license key afterwards. I just don’t have an example, but I had already such situation.
It is also possible to scan registry databases (where windows is usually saving the serial number) which are not active. It means for example if you have several windows systems on one computer or when you have a backup on an USB stick or if the windows system / harddisk is damaged (but still readable). Also in this cases can the software recover the product keys.
And last but not least I’d like to mention the network functionality. It is for me not interesting, because I don’t have a network. But it someone has his own (or even a company) network, then this function could be also very interesting. Because the tool can scan whole networks. It can list as well every software product with license keys of all computer in the network. Of course it can save or print the whole list.
That makes it very easy to get an overview about installed software on every network computer and helps to prevent pirated material or other unwanted software in the network.
Also important is that this software is available in different languages.

My conclusion:
This software is perfect to backup your product keys. From the local computer as well as from the network. It can change the product key of (e.g.) Windows operations systems or games, etc. without the need to reinstall the whole software.
It is a great tool to backup your license keys and to recover product keys from damaged systems.
The price-performance ration is good. The software cost just a few bugs. (Sure, there are also some free programs, but Recover Keys is the market leader and is recognizing over 3000 programs. The ones for free just a few (up to 300).)
We always have in mind to make backups from our important files. But not many people think about a backup of the product keys. But without the product key is the installation file useless. The product key is the thing which cost the money we pay for software, not the software itself!
Heute hatte ich mal wieder den Fall. Ich wollte meinen kleinen Laptop mal wieder neu installieren. Es hat sich schon wieder so viel Müll darauf angesammelt das ich um eine Neuinstallation nicht drum herum gekommen bin. Das System war so lahm :-(
Wie dem auch sei. Das Problem bei einer Neuinstallation sind immer folgende Sachen:
Die erste Frage wird meist mit „Nein“ beantwortet und man verschiebt es einfach… bis gar nichts mehr geht. Frage 3 … das große Suchen geht los. Ich habe dafür einen eigenen Ordner auf einer externen Festplatte, wo alle Installations- und Treiberdateien reinkommen. Und für Frage 2 und 4 habe ich jetzt ein nettes Tool entdeckt, welches dabei hilft.
Das Tool (kleine Software) funktioniert sehr einfach. Man Startet einen Suchlauf und die Software listet jede bekannte Software auf, die auf dem Computer installiert ist. Das schöne dabei, inklusive aller Produkt Keys von Programmen die die Software kennt (im Moment wohl über 3000). So hat man auf einen Blick z.B. den XP Produkt Key oder den Office Produkt Key und so weiter.

Das Tool listet alle schön in einer Tabelle auf und man kann diese Tabelle dann speichern oder ausdrucken. Letzteres ist sicher Sinnvoller bei einer Neuinstallation ;-)
Oder man speichert die Liste auf einem USB-Stick, dann wird sie beim Formatieren der Festplatte nicht mit gelöscht.
Das Programm kann aber noch mehr als nur den Produkt Key auslesen, anzeigen, wiederherstellen und speichern oder ausdrucken. Man kann damit auch einen Produkt Key ändern. Manchmal ist es nötig einen vorhanden Lizenzschlüssel zu ändern. Mit fällt gerade kein Beispiel ein, aber ich weiß das ich die Situation schon mal hatte.
Auch ist es möglich damit Registrierungsdatenbanken (wo Windows die Seriennummern speichert) auszulesen die nicht aktiv sind. Das heißt wenn man zum Beispiel mehrere Windowssystem auf einen Computer gleichzeitig betreibt oder ein Backup auf einem USB-Stick hat oder ein Windowssystem beschädigt (aber noch lesbar) ist und nicht mehr bootet. Auch hier können die Lizenzschlüssel ausgelesen werden.
Und zu guter letzte möchte ich noch die Netzwerkfunktion erwähnen. Für mich persönlich nicht interessant, da ich kein Netzwerk habe (außer meine externe Festplatte). Aber falls jemand ein privates oder gar Firmen-Netzwerk administrieren muss, dann könnte die Funktion sicher sehr interessant werden. Denn es können ganze Netzwerke ausgelesen werden. So listet das Programm alle Computer im Netzwerk auf und jede bekannte Software inkl. Produkt Key auf den Netzwerkrechnern. Natürlich können alle in einem Rutsch gespeichert und/oder ausgedruckt werden.
Das vereinfacht nicht nur die Verwaltung sondern kann auch zur Vorbeugung von Raubkopien und unerwünschter Software im Netzwerk genutzt werden.
Auch noch wichtig finde ich das dass Programm in Deutsch verfügbar ist.

Mein Fazit:
Das Programm ist optimal geeignet um den Produkt Key auszulesen. Auf dem lokalen Computer wie auch in Netzwerken. Man kann z.B. auch den XP Product Key ändern, ohne das gesamte System neu Installieren zu müssen. Es ist optimal geeignet um eine Sicherungskopie seiner Lizenzschlüssel zu erstellen und auch um beschädigte Wiederherzustellen.
Top Programm zu einem guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Ach ja, es gibt natürlich auch kostenlose Programme. Aber Recover Keys ist der Marktführer und erkennt die meisten Programme (aktuell über 3000). Kostenlose erkennen meist nur sehr wenige.

Nobody has a finance crises here (except me), Greece is (more or less) far away. Greek politics have nothing to say here and the country is called Cyprus.
In the north of Cyprus it becomes a bit more complicated. I can’t tell is exactly. According to Wikipedia belongs the territory of the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus to the European Union. I need to ask Moni how it exactly is. But I think also North Cyprus have an own government and is with it an own country, but only Turkey accept it.
So: Greece is not Cyprus – Gordon is in Cyprus… everything clear? :-)
Da es mir immer wieder passier das mich jemand fragt „Und, wie ist es in Griechenland?“… oder „Wieder in Griechenland angekommen?“ oder „Sag mal Ihr habt doch da ne Finanzkriese in Griechenland…“… Heute noch mal für alle Unwissenden :P Zypern ist nicht Griechenland! (Süd)Zypern ist ein eigenständiger Staat und hat mit Griechenland nur soviel zu tun das die meisten Einwohner hier von Griechen abstammen und daher zypriotische Griechen heißen. Und ich lebe in Zypern, nicht in Griechenland. Und wieder was gelernt. ;-)
Hier hat keiner eine Finanzkriese (außer ich), Griechenland ist weit weg, Griechische Politiker haben hier nichts zu sagen und der Staat heißt Zypern.
Im Norden von Zypern wird es schon schwieriger. Hier kann ich es nicht genau sagen. Laut Wikipedia gehört das Gebiet der Türkischen Republik Nordzypern zur Europäischen Union. Ich muss mal Moni Fragen wie sich das da verhält. Aber ich glaube auch Nordzypern hat eine eigene Regierung und ist damit ein eigener Staat, der jedoch nur von der Türkei als dieses anerkannt wird.
Also: Griechenland != Zypern – Gordon => Zypern … alles geklärt? :-)
